Care For Hedland has had a very strong history of key waste and litter initiatives since its original inception in 2003.
Among a myriad of exciting activities and initiatives, the Waste project includes:
- a regular Keep Australia Beautiful WA Adopt-A-Spot volunteer litterpick program cleaning up litter hotspots in both Hedland townships (Posted regularly on our social media pages)
- coordinating nationwide cleanup events in our area
- a strong local school liaison and early learning centre program working to reduce waste and litter
- working with companies to promote action on litter and beach cleanups
- community education regarding local recycling option
The Waste Management program is highly appreciative of the ongoing support by our Care For Hedland Principal Partner, BHP, which enables us to continue to work with the local Hedland community to help reduce local litter and help solve waste issues.
