Care for Hedland Environmental Association was established in 2003 and is a proactive group interested in environmental/sustainability issues prevalent within Hedland and the wider region.

Care for Hedland has four key programs; Marine Biodiversity including the Flatback turtles monitoring program (Oct-April), Sustainable Living including the Hedland Garden Club, waste management and Containers for Change, Land Management and Education, Advocacy and Outreach.
