Volunteering

Care For Hedland is a not-for-profit organisation and thus relies greatly on dedicated volunteers. We regularly hold fundraising and community-centred events and love seeing the community get involved.

Regular volunteer events

Community Garden: please watch our Facebook page and join Hedland Garden Club Facebook group for updates.

Adopt-a-Spot: Litter clean ups are the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month starting from May (specific location changes each time). Volunteers collect roadside litter from 7-8:30am to protect the environment and improve the appearance of the area. Gloves and bags are supplied but a hat and water bottle are recommended.

Containers for Change Mobile Refund Point: these are held 4th Sunday of each month. Reach out to Chairperson – Kelly Howlett ☎️ 0439 941 431 or 📧 chair@careforhedland.org.au to for more details and to participate.

Turtle Program: Turtle time kicks off in November and goes through to end of January. Turtle training weekend is held last weekend in October – watch our socials for details 🐢
